Culture Shock

If you have been reading my blogs up until now, you will realise that the past two and a half weeks I have been spending 90% of my waking hours lying on a beach or near a pool.  Well this morning I was up at 5:15am to get to the airport and catch our flight to Singapore.

The flight itself was really good, I reckon about 30 people on the plane including the stewardesses and the pilots!  Managed to grab sleep through most of the flight by just going to the emergency exit seats and lying across them, bliss apart from I had crossed my legs to make them fit and woke up with no feeling in one of them – I kid you not when I say I walked to the passport control like John Wayne, ol’ limp leg!

Singapore, despite being only an hour and a half flight from Thailand is crazily further in terms of technology and culture.  It reminds me a lot of New York with Neon Liquid Crystal displays showing the newest products to the Singapore public.  They also speak English as their first language, so no more having to repeat myself 4 time before they understand the word rice!  I even treat myself to a KFC (slap on the wrist, yes yes…)

After watching the Bond Marathon nights in Thailand we decided to go to the cinema here and catch the new Bond – Casino Royale – if you haven’t seen it yet, go, now…  Stop reading this, chuck your jacket on (heard its raining there!) and go watch…  This film rocks man!

Anyway, bit off track there for a moment but it is really good.  Spent most of today trekking around the streets with Scatt to find a post office, her backpack is over 10kgs heavier than ours and I think she realises she may have a little too much stuff, so tomorrow a parcel will be winging its way home to England with some of her belongings.  I’m going to send one too as I really don’t think I am going to need my Jeans and jumper as it’s too friggin hot!  Anyway, tired now…  Take care ya’ll
